DigiTally
WestBIC is an Enterprise Ireland partner providing hands-on startup support, funding readiness and investment preparation for early-stage founders in the west of Ireland.
Based in Tuam, Co. Galway, DigiTally was established in 2018 by Patrick McDermott (CEO) & Artur Leonowicz (CTO), two inventory control experts who have experienced the hassle and inefficiency of manual inventory control.
By combining an intuitive counting app with a reporting dashboard DigiTally software provides marginal gains to multisite food and beverage businesses through the effective management of inventory, food waste, and improved operational efficiency.
DigiTally serves contract catering and hospitality businesses enabling same-day reporting across all sites providing instant results on your number one metric - your gross profit margin.
Key supports received
The key support received was really in preparation for our funding and becoming an Enterprise Ireland High Potential Startup (HSPU) Client. WestBIC supported us with the application form, and with our financial planning which was an instrumental part in us achieving the Enterprise Ireland HPSU status.
Words of advice for new start-ups
Validate your product as quickly as possible, have a very strong and clear understanding of your target market and how you are going to sell to them. Make sure you're very clear on the value that you are going to be giving to them.
Future Plans
DigiTally has a service addressable market of €1.02Billion which consists of multi-site food businesses in the UK & US. DigiTally is currently focused on UK growth now that initial traction has been achieved in Ireland.
There are three markets: contract catering firms, hospitality (hotels, restaurants, cafés and bars) groups and deli's (Ireland only). Through the direct targeting of contract catering groups, it is envisaged that DigiTally will be rolled out locally in both Ireland & the UK and then brought globally by their own customer base.
