We are extremely fortunate to have access to such incredible talent and expertise in the West of Ireland and in Ireland in General. From our initial start-up journey, we received great support and advice from Donegal LEO, Enterprise Ireland & New Frontiers Northwest (Sligo), and more recently with WestBIC. 

John, Mary, Chantal and the wider team at WestBIC have been an enormous help to Digi Food NPD, from our initial Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund (now Pre-Seed Start Fund) application through to supporting us to become investor ready. John at WestBIC was instrumental in developing our financial modelling and outlook. Mary has been a fantastic mentor and advisor.

Words of advice for new start-ups

Find something that you are deeply passionate about, people will see that in you and your product.  People are what will drive you forward and open doors and create opportunities. Start networking with anyone prominent in your target market and in your relevant technology field, talk to people especially those who work in your industry, talk to investment circles. Validate your product and any assumptions in your test market as soon as you can.

Future Plans

We launched the platform in October 2022, and the response has been extremely positive. Our goal is to become one of Europe’s leading Food NPD platforms. Our company is now in a high growth phase. We have many ambitious food producers, Universities, and NPD consultants, in the UK, and Ireland, using the platform. Our future plans involve building the team and consolidating investment opportunities.
