WestBIC is an Enterprise Ireland partner providing hands-on startup support, funding readiness and investment preparation for early-stage founders in the west of Ireland.

AtriAN Medical Limited is a Company developing a new non-thermal, non-scarring ablation technology for treating Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) with preparation for first-in-human trials currently underway. We have licensed technology originally developed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in the US and have 'spun-out' of NUIG, originally funded by EI's 'Comm Fund'.

Key supports received during start-up process & the role WestBIC played

The largest issue was raising funds from investors. Enterprise Ireland was key to our initial and follow-up funding, but WestBIC was vital in helping us to develop the materials needed. WestBIC was instrumental in developing our financial modeling. Our products are heavily regulated and the timelines are quite long. WestBIC was highly resourceful in working with us to develop accurate modeling over several years.
