Accelerating Action
WestBIC is an Enterprise Ireland partner providing hands-on startup support, funding readiness and investment preparation for early-stage founders in the west of Ireland.
Accelerating Action is a digital platform that simplifies impact measurement, reporting and strategic decision-making, bridging the gap between aspiration and action. Accelerating Action helps organisations stay holistic in their thinking when delivering their work, built on the framework of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their associated underlying 169 Targets.
Accelerating Action was established in 2023, evolving from an Excel spreadsheet that the Accelerating Change Together (ACT) team initially used to address the challenge of effectively communicating the impacts of projects, plans and policies. Accelerating Action Ltd is now a standalone business, aiming to build the capacity of other organisations to deliver solutions for accelerating the transition.
Key supports received during start-up process & the role WestBIC played
WestBIC has been hugely supportive in Accelerating Action's development. They supported Accelerating Action in the successful application to the Pre-Seed Start Fund (PSSF) and in 2024, Accelerating Action was also accepted onto the Prep4Seed Programme. This program prepares start-up clients for seed investment, guiding them through the investor readiness process.
The Prep4Seed Programme involved five Masterclasses run by the Irish BICs and tailored one-to-one meetings with experienced BIC consultants, covering areas such as Sales & Marketing, Financial Modelling, Market Validation, Pitching & Investment and Company Foundation. Participants also underwent intensive investor pitch preparation sessions and trial pitches.
In 2024, Accelerating Action became a registered Enterprise Ireland Green Service Provider and thanks to EI’s Green Start funding, we supported CitySwift on their growth and sustainability journey.

Continuously work on research and development based on user feedback to evolve your product and meet evolving customer needs.
Future Plans
Accelerating Action has successfully supported 3 national Climate Action Plans, 9 local authorities (Offaly, Laois, Derry, Mayo, Donegal, Galway City, Clare, Meath & Westmeath), the Department of Environment, Climate & Communications (DECC)’s SDG Champions network, 2 universities (ATU Sligo and University of Galway Business School) and 5 social enterprises & thriving green tech startup ‘CitySwift’. In 2025, Accelerating Action has collaborated with the Ireland Chapter of PMI for their 2025 awards, where our platform is being used for evaluating and choosing the project "Most Compliant with the 17 x UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)".
Accelerating Action aims to penetrate the Irish SME market by capitalising on available sustainability-focused government funding. We will continue to expand our reach within national and local authorities across Ireland, aiming to integrate its platform across all government and council departments.
All R&D development is based on user feedback. Accelerating Action has undergone several updates, including "Assess impact" (original MVP), "Communicate impact" (addition of infographics) and "Improve impact" (addition of 1,000+ action ideas and 2,000+ local indicator ideas).
