Mission to empower female entrepreneurship transnationally
WestBIC is an Enterprise Ireland partner providing hands-on startup support, funding readiness and investment preparation for early-stage founders in the west of Ireland.
Over 500 women have participated in the activities for empowering female entrepreneurship in the Northern Periphery and Arctic. Promoting female entrepreneurship could be the solution to prevent people from vanishing of sparsely populated regions. Sustaining settlement and diminishing differences in development in different regions is prerequisite when vitality and equality of rural regions is concerned. During past couple of years W-Power project has created a specific peer mentoring program and business idea competition to promote international female entrepreneurship and cooperation during the pandemic. Karelia University of Applied Sciences together with Lapland University of Applied Sciences and six international partners have been looking for solutions to promote female entrepreneurship in sparsely populated regions in Northern Europe and Canada by offering entrepreneurial training and other supporting actions by conducting the W-Power project.
W-Power Final Seminar Week will run from Tuesday 28th to Thursday 30th 2021.

For the last time, the W-Power project brings together female entrepreneurs and innovation & business support eco-system stakeholders from all regions associated with the W-Power project: Iceland, Ireland, Scotland (including the Shetlands), Sweden, Finland and Canada. The seminar week will be filled with interesting keynotes and guest speakers, interactive panel discussions showcasing the project main outputs as well as workshops with useful advice for entrepreneurs and not to mention virtual networking via a special online platform.
