TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER
Through its network of over 200 EC BICs and similar providers throughout the EU, WESTBIC locates partners and technology for growing companies in the BMW Region. This is achieved at low-to-no cost through these active networks and has resulted in the formation of sustainable collaborative networks through which these companies can continue to develop the next generation of technology and product/service offering in an international context. Successes to date include; location of export orders to the UK, sourcing of materials in the Navarra region of Spain and acquiring technology in the Czech Republic.
Through this low-cost, direct networking approach, companies can be “born global” and have their technology benchmarked against international best practice before engaging in the search for commercialisation capital.
The targeting of partner and technology searches is further improved by the animation of thematic sub-networks in Technology areas to include Food, Marine and Environment among the extensive EU-wide Association of EC BICs.
