Digital Media Training Initiative for North West Mayo

By Joan Fahey, March 5, 2010

A new Digital Media Training Initiative, Togra na Meain, was launched by Minister Éamon Ó Cuív in Belmullet on Monday 22nd February 2010. This initiative aims to support the development of the digital media sector in North West Mayo by running a series of part-time introductory and professional level training courses at a reduced cost, to help generate interest in the sector, and to build the skills necessary to support the organic development and growth of the industry in the locality.

The Digital Media Training Initiative will commence with a series of information seminars to be held on Friday, March 19, in Aras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, and Saturday, March 20, in the G.A.A. Meeting Room, Crossmolina. The seminars will be free to attend and open to all.

Togra na Meain is a partnership between Áras Inis Gluaire and Mayo Ideas Lab and is receiving funding from the Fiontar Chomhraic Teo enterprise fund. Mayo Ideas Lab is a Mayo County Development Board Initiative, managed by WESTBIC. Further information is available from Áras Inis Gluaire on their website www.arasinisgluaire.ie or telephone (097) 81079.
