By Joan Fahey, April 15, 2011
Applications are currently being sought for a new enterprise development programme called Clar Coisceim Gno. Based in Belmullet, this programme will offer first time entrepreneurs in North West Mayo a range of supports to help them through the business planning process. Supports offered will include a structured business development training programme, as well as incubation facilities (including individual desk space), telephone, broadband access, use of meeting rooms, print, photocopying and fax facilities.
Enterprise development workshops will cover topics such as business planning, protecting intellectual property, legal issues for start-ups, financial planning, pitching to investors etc. Participants will also receive regular reviews of business performance and progress towards goals as well as access to specialist expertise where relevant. Some participants on the programme may be eligible to avail of the Department of Social Protection’s Back to Work Enterprise Allowance / Short-Term Enterprise Allowance Schemes.
Access to the programme will be on a competitive basis and candidates will be asked to complete an application form. They may then be short listed for interview, where they will be requested to give a short presentation on their business idea.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday 28th April 2011.
