CATER WASTE WINS TWO AWARDS AT IFEX FOOD SHOW IN BELFAST

Cater Waste has won 2 prestigious Awards at this year’s IFEX show in Belfast in April 2006. The company based in Toomebridge, make unique all-in-one grease traps for the food and catering industry. They beat stiff competition at the food industry’s main event of the year IFEX for their innovative product. Cater Waste won 2 Awards, one for Best Sustainable and Environmentally Enhancing Product and one for Best Kitchen Equipment Product.
Said Sean Doyle, Cater Waste, “We are really pleased that our products have been recognised in this way both from an environmental point of view and the catering industry. The food sector is a tough business, equipment used is required to meet extremely high standards. This award shows that our product can make life a bit easier for the fast food industry. We designed the grease trap to be environmentally-friendly and save time for the food industry.”
Cater Waste is a member of BUILD UP, a cross border network of innovative and quality businesses, which provide products and services to the construction industry. It includes 20 companies from the North West. It is a cross border initiative created and organised by WESTBIC who support the development of innovative business in the Border, Midland and Western Regions. Cater Waste was also a participant on WESTBIC’s Knowledge NW Programme in 2004 which aimed to increase the knowledge and enhance the skills of SME’s to develop and grow through cross-border trade relationships and international market development.

The grease trap idea was wholly designed and manufactured by the team at Cater Waste in Toomebridge. It shows that new product innovation is very much alive and well in the North West.
