BUILD-UP EVENT 15th September 2005; Supporting cross-border construction industry network

BUILD UP EVENT - 15 SEPTEMBER 2005 OMAGH
BUILDING UP MOMENTUM FOR COMPANIES IN THE NORTH-WEST

BUILD UP is a new cross border network of innovative and quality businesses which provides products and services to the construction industry. The network includes 20 companies, 10 are based in Donegal and 10 in Tyrone and Derry. The group will be officially launched in the Omagh Enterprise Centre on 15th September 2005 where all 20 companies will exhibit their products and services to attendees. Gerard McCaughey, who built Century Homes to a massive success, will be a guest at the event.

BUILD UP day will be open to all trade; building contractors, construction industry and the public, particularly anyone building a house from 11-8pm, admission is free. So anyone in the construction or building game should make sure they go along to the event.

BUILD UP companies supply innovative products ranging from water proofing material for shower trays, Bangor Blue roofing slates, cabling systems for entertainment, marquetary for wooden floors to concrete waterproofing products, copper cylinders, grease traps and geothermal heating systems. In addition there are also a number of quality traditional suppliers such as PVC and aluminium windows, concrete, architects and netting suppliers.

Eunan Cunningham, WESTBIC, the promoters of BUILD UP in partnership with NORIBIC further explained ‘The aim is to generate not only cross border business for our participants, but also on a national scale by creating a dynamic network. In addition, we will be promoting BUILD UP as a resource to the construction industry to quickly find quality and unique products. Based on input from the participants on what is most relevant to their business, we will be involved in a number of industry events, such as Plan Expo in Dublin and are looking forward to the BUILD UP event on 15 September in Omagh.’

This project is promoted by WESTBIC, the Business and Innovation Centre for the Border, Midlands & Western Region and NORIBIC Northern Ireland Business Innovation Centre supported by the EU INTERREG IIIA Programme for Ireland/Northern Ireland. The original Construction Industry Product Cluster (for which Build Up is the brand name) is funded by Peace 2 under the administration of Cooperation Ireland.
