Additional Quality-SME Health and Safety Training Programme in Galway

By James Donlon, November 7, 2005

Due to demand for training under the QUALITY-SME Programme, a second short training programme will take place for another group of participants at Galway Technology Centre (Group2), commencing on Wednesday 7th December 2005. This will allow some companies who could not participate in the previous programme in Galway to benefit from the QUALITY-SME training initiative.
This will be the fourth training group in the Border, Midland and Western Region of Ireland to undergo training in 2005. Other training already underway include initiatives with partner organisations at Galway Technology Centre (Group 1); Furbo in conjunction with Udaras Na Gaeltachta and Westmeath in conjunction with Westmeath County Enterprise Board. These training initiatives are expected to result in a total of 20 participants completing the training, which is tailored to suit their needs in areas of Health and Safety Management for small business (OHSAS 18000).
An on-line resource for assistance with implementation of integrated management systems, incorporating Quality Management (ISO 9000), Care for the Environment (ISO 14000) and Health and Safety in the Workplace (OHSAS 18000) is available on the programme website at www.quality-sme.com
