IDEAS LAB APPROACH TO STIMULATE NEW ENTERPRISE AND INNOVATION

Nuálann Mhaigheo – Mayo Ideas Lab

Recognising the importance of innovation to economic development, the Economic Forum of Mayo County Development Board have adopted a new and pioneering approach to stimulating a culture of innovation throughout the county. Supported by a unique partnership of Mayo organisations this pilot project is designed to stimulate additional entrepreneurial and innovative activity in County Mayo.

Tá sé ar intinn ag ‘Nuálann Mhaigheo’ na coinníollacha maidir le cur i bhfeidhm phroiséas nuálaíochta atá ilearnálach a fhiosrú agus a leanúint go gníomhach. Déanfar an togra seo i bpáirtíocht le aisíneachtaí atá bunaithe cheana agus tá i gceist díriú ar cheantar Ghaeltachta Iorrais mar bhunús píolatach i dtús báire chun na céimeanna le tabhairt faoi easnamh nuálaíochta sa cheantar a fhiosrú.

The objective of this pilot project is to investigate the conditions where the application of an innovation process that is multi sectoral can be actively pursued. The Project will work in partnership with existing agencies and it is proposed that Mayo Ideas Lab will initially focus on the Gaeltacht region of Erris to pilot the building of its response to the innovation deficit.
